March 8 is International Women’s Day. It also marks the 1,000th day that Nasrin Sotoudeh has been in prison since she was arrested in 2018. Please join us for the discussion that will center on Nasrin Sotoudeh, who sacrificed her freedom to fight for human rights in Iran.

Hosted by Amnesty International USA, Amnesty International Canada, The Global Justice Center, and The Feminist Majority Foundation.

With an introduction by Emmy and Tony-winning actress Christine Baranski (CBS’s “The Good Fight”). Moderated by Deborah Amos, NPR News Middle East correspondent.

Reza Khandan - Human rights activist and Nasrin’s husband (with a translator, joining at the end of the event to give an update on Nasrin’s condition and case).

Jafar Panahi - Acclaimed filmmaker technically under house arrest in Iran who has repeatedly defied a government ban for making films.
