An Open Letter

To: World Health Organization,

And Human Rights Organizations

As a group of political, social and human rights activists in Iran, we reach out to you for immediate and urgent help in curbing and containing the deadly coronavirus pandemic ravaging our nation today and is believed to continue for some time yet. Due to the chronic shortage of hospitals, essential medical facilities and resources, a staggering number of Iranians are succumbing to the virus every day.
The Islamic Republic in Iran due to gross mismanagement, incompetence and institutionalized corruption deeply rooted in the regime, has exacerbated the spread of COVID-19 virus in the population and throughout the country, effectively turning Iran into one of the major vectors of the disease regionally and internationally.
It is under these horrifying conditions that we seek immediate help of the World Health Organization and Human Rights organizations. Our responsible fellow countrymen and women will volunteer with goodwill and compassion to assist the defenders of public health hospital personnel in receiving and overseeing the distribution of aids. We also ask of all Iranians in and outside Iran to volunteer for helping and assisting in order to rid this national calamity and its consequences.
In order to deliver the aid timely fashion and proportional to needs and priorities, we propose that the representatives of medical, nursing, hospital personnel, humanitarian and the representatives social NGOs and social workers who have experience and competence in teamwork to join us so we can pursue the following aims with organization and programming:
۱٫ To oversee and carefully record the uses and distribution of received aids.
۲٫ The needs of Coronavirus patients and their families, prisoners, armed forces personnel, single mothers, out-of-work laborers, those forced out of work and have no source of income and homeless children, shall be identified, prioritized with respect to aids received and rush to help them.
۳٫ The undersigned will select and introduce a “National Rescue Committee” in presence of the representatives of professional NGOs such as Iran Medical Association and World Health Organization, in order to enjoy national and international trust and to prevent any corruption by the Islamic regime.
