The message of Iran National Front -Europe to Joseph Borrell, responsible for foreign affairs and security policy of the European Union

Monday 26 December 2022

Your Excellency, Joseph Borrell,

High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy

Date: 22 December 2022

Your daily occupation should surely have made you acquainted with the “Problem of Iran” and you are definitely aware as to with what kind of ruthless violence the Iranian regime deals with the protesting women, the youth, the students, pupils and in general all those who dare to protest. It could have not possibly escaped your attention that the most elementary human rights of the Iranian people are grossly violated on a daily basis. The repression and violence are directed especially against the Iranian women about which a story appeared in the New York Times of 17 December inst.

https://www.nytimes.com/2022/12/17/opinion/iran-women-rape.html

Unfortunately, the government of the Islamic Republic, in place of attending to the rightful demands of the people, resorts to the use of brute force and repressive methods to quash the people’s rights. One example is the manner in which the elections of the national assembly are held. By setting up show elections, the regime filters all the unwanted elements from candidate’s list and leaves no choice for the people to vote for their own desired candidates. The result is that only the loyal elements of the regime such as the “resigned“ government officials or the retired commanders of the Revolutionary guards (Sepah Pasdaran, the main instrument of repression and violence against people and perpetrators of terrorist acts inside and outside Iran), come out of the ballot box. The logical choice of the great majority of the citizens entitled to vote in the last parliament “elections” was just refraining from going to ballots. The regime has thus lost all its legal, political and moral legitimacy.

What concerns the treatment of the female protestors by the Islamic Republic, we refer only to one incident of such an abhorrent case against a young Iranian female physician. Ms. Rostami used to treat the injured protesters at their homes in Tehran with the medication and surgical instruments which she carried with herself, free of charge.
This young lady physician was identified by the security forces and was arrested. A few days later, her dead body was “found” in an unrecognizable state with her face, breasts and sexual organs severely damaged. Authorities of the criminal regime have claimed that she was killed in a traffic accident! Of course, such feigned reports are made by the same criminals, because the forensic authorities do not dare to report the real facts.

Your Excellency, you or the European Union have most probably issued so far protest statements and warnings to the Islamic Republic authorities for their inhuman treatment of their opponents. These warnings and protests have clearly failed to produce the intended results.

Your Excellency, don’t you think that now it is high time your Council considered bringing the level of diplomatic relations with this criminal regime to a minimum, expelling its ambassador from Europe and placing the Revolutionary guards under sanctions?

We are sure such an action by Your esteemed Council could be an effective measure to bring pressure upon the Islamic Republic to stop violating, and to respect, the basic human rights of the Iranian people.

Respectfully submitted,
Arsen Nazarian
Secretary for International Relations
Iran-Europe National Front (INF-Europe)
